The passing of Irving Schelew
SCHELEW, IRVING – 1921-2013 – It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Irving Schelew who passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday, December 10th, 2013. Born on March 28, 1921, in Moncton, NB. He was the son of the late Nathan and Annie (Bornstein). Irving served in the Canadian Air Force from 1941-1949. He was the successful owner of Moncton Family Outfitters Ltd Retail Store for 16 years. Irving then earned his Stock Broker license and was employed with RBC Securities for 16 years. He then joined his son, Alan, to become full time General Manager of A.I. Enterprises Ltd., retiring only recently. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Tiferes Israel Synagogue and an active member of the Moncton Jewish Community. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Lillian Schelew, his four sons, Jeffrey of Nova Scotia, Alan (Suzan Trottier) of Moncton, Michael (Lum) of Toronto and Bernard (Theresa) of Nova Scotia, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, his brother Don of Toronto, his sister, Ruth (Doug Willansky) of Toronto and several nieces and nephews, along with his A.I. Enterprises Ltd family and his many friends.
Funeral Service will be held at the Tiferes Israel Synagogue on December 12th, 2013 at 2:45pm. The burial will follow at Congregation Tiferes Israel Cemetery in Dieppe. Arrangements have been entrusted to Fergusons Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995). In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Irving may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Congregation Tiferes Israel Synagogue. Online condolences at www.fergusonsfuneralhome.com
